I got introduced to LJ through the SSFFS community here. I wanted to be a part of it and created an account for it. Before that I had my blogger account which contained over one year of blogging for me. I kept it and mostly forgot about my lj until someone mentioned that I should post there too. So started a almost two year period of cross posting everything, that I just ended. For the last few months I have been intending on switching back to only one online journal. However I could not decide which to keep or to start a wordpress one (I happen to have an account there too). Finally last week I decided to stay here on lj, mainly due to the amazing people I have met here and communities I am a part of.

And they both have the same origin. The userpic is of course from Assassin's Creed, one of my new obessions. It is from what is called a leap of faith and that is exactly what I'll use it for. When ever there is something that might be against my better judgement, but I'll jump anyway (and pray that there are people leaving piles of hay around for me too). Like deciding to do a special studies and most likely a thesis. It is a leap of faith I have to do.
The journal name is 'It is only Tuesday'. The main reason is the song Six Days by DJ Shadow.

I just feels that it fits me rather well. My days feel very long. Some nights when I walk home it seems like forever since I walked the same way to deliver mail at work. I also really like the tomorrow never comes until it is too late line. Sometimes all I want is for the day to be over so I can wake up to a new day tomorrow. Over all I just like the song.
New fandom: Yes, like that was a big surprise. I have really gotten into Assassin's Creed. So yeah, I have a new fandom now. Yay!
Today I feel like cleaning. We cleaned the copier area today and I think it got into my blood.. I want to make my room look like a room and not somewhere I am just staying. Hopefully that way I am more likely to spend time there. Time spent there means words written and that is very good. My words per day for June so far is 160-something, but it is cheating a little because it is counting all the days in june. (This is just the way I set up my little spread sheet. If I was to do it correctly it would be 384, which is pretty good for being me. I have been writing fanfiction these last few days since I am not entirely sure what to do in the next chapter of Savin' Me. If any of my readers have things they would like to see, please tell me, this is a very open ended project and I love ideas and input. The next chapter is Night PoV.

Yeah, this blog is moving. I have had this account with blogger for three years now, or close to. It has been a surprisingly big part of my life. Very teraputic to write down your thoughts and feelings and angry rants. Same goes for LJ, though I had that for a lot shorter period of time, only one and a half year, but I will be more or less leaving that too. Everything will move to the new wordpress blog, and we are in the moving phase now, but this will take full effect on the last day of classes, as that is the last day when I have the class I originally got the wordpress account for. I will still have my accounts with blogger and LJ, just that my updates will all be on the word press account. I am also starting up the DEE project again their (that might be in full effect before the main blog). IMPORTANT NOTE: Some, possibly a lot, of post will be password protected. I tend to lean towards being as open as possible but sometimes that is not possible. If you want access to the password, email me, comment here or comment on the wordpress account.
Registraion for fall classes went fine. I got into everything I wanted. I am exited about Astro. Been wanting to take that class for a long time. Then there are Assembly and Operating Systems which will both be fun, I hope, if a lot of work. I am also looking forward to taking german again. And I got the section with a teacher that have been recommended to me.
In the rpg world, things are going ok. I am a little bit out of it, because every game I have played this year feels like it have been very political, this might not have been the intention, but that is how it feels. And lately I have been wanting to do more swashbuckling. You know, fights, insults, treasure, fight monsters, so on and so forth. Something that is lighter and more fun and less heavy on the political plot. This I guess is reflected in my last two characters Adrian and Ramon, both essencially swashbucklers, though only Ramon is an actual pirate. So I am looking into how I can do that. There is also two games I want to play, both of which can fit this style. Shadowrun and 7th Sea. 7th Sea is a swashbuckling pirate game already, but I only have the player's guide and don't really feel like dishing out tons of money. Shadowrun has a very dark and gritty overtone, but the underlying consept is very much that of swashbuckling. But it is also futuristic, character gen is confusing and it seems to be hard to recruit players for it and get the ones I have to be enthusiastic about it. Is that my fault? Am I doing something wrong as a GM? Or is it simply that people don't like futuristic games? I don't know.
But I have a few links for people
7th Sea, link to the game, has loads of interesting resources
Victorian Slang Glossary, just exactly what it sounds like
Costuming:
The bones arrived today. So I thought I should give you all a break down of the cost of the projects so far
Black sorceress:
Pattern and shipping $30
Fabric and shipping $90
Bones and shipping $86
Total cost $210 (estimated: no more than $250)
Total time so far 3-4 hours (estimanted: a lot)
The Shaman:
Pattern $7
Hooks ~$10-12
Yarn $13
Bones $9
Total cost $40
Total time so far: maybe an hour

"Walk on, walk on
What you got, they can't steal it
No they can't even feel it
Walk on, walk on
Stay safe tonight...
You're packing a suitcase for a place none of us has been
A place that has to be believed to be seen
You could have flown away
A singing bird in an open cage
Who will only fly, only fly for freedom
Walk on, walk on
What you got they can't deny it
Can't sell it or buy it
Walk on, walk on
Stay safe tonight
And I know it aches
And your heart it breaks
And you can only take so much
Walk on, walk on
Home...hard to know what it is if you never had one
Home...I can't say where it is but I know I'm going home
That's where the heart is"

I don't know why I wanted to start with that song. It doesn't really have much to do with anything. Except to bring home a point I made the other day. Walk on. It is all we can do. And don't be afraid.
A brief note on the new title of this blog. Brief Mortality. The blogger account have the full sub title, LJ does not. Anyway it is 'And the sound makes it's way outta the window Minglin' with the traffic noises outside, you know, an' All of a sudden I'm overcome by a feelin' of brief mortality', it is from the spoken intro to the song Woke up this Morning by A3. The reason why I chose this is because often I am over come by this feeling. I see something beautiful, or grand, or ancient or so larger than life, and I am reminded about how small I am, and how little I really matter in the big picture. And you know what, it is a good feeling.
I bleached my hair, was intending on dying it blue, but now I like this, I might stay blond.
Maria Victoria is now unplayable. She's in jail. And is going to stay there for a while. So yesterday I statted out Ramon. He is going to be fun. He's an Egyptian orc. Tall, and when he isn't having problems with the ground moving (ie. on a boat or drunk) quite graceful. He is young and handsome in that slightly dangerous way. You know someone confident of their abilities, and those abilities include being able to hurt you badly. In the shower I realized why he is in London, must remember to tell Sibs. Ramon is a pirate and I have to figure out the way he speak, I have a feeling he swears by a ton of different gods. Heh, he is going to be fun, mainly because he'll rub Jaq the wrong way so badly..
