The awesomeness that is Norwegian animal names in Latin strikes again. This time bringing you THE coolest owl out there. The Bubo Bubo, in English Eurasian Eagle Owl, Norwegian Hubro and best of all German: Uhu after the sound it makes.



These magnificent birds can become 75 cm tall, and have a wingspan of up to 200 cm (that is 7 feet people). They are fairly common back home with 5-600 couples in Norway-Sweeden.

I love their eyes. So deep and rich and they stare into your soul....  I have seen one in the forest behind our house.
