So the rest of the trip?

Went fine, my flight was 20 minutes delayed out from Frankfurt because of a malfuctioning AC. It was one of those fun flights where the plane is on an apron, so we had to take the bus from the terminal to the plane itself. Once we got to Norway we had the most amazing weather and I am now in love again. I live in a beautiful country. It is very wild and rugged and looks like it can't be tamed, yet there are houses almost everywhere. When we landed in Stavanger it took a bit to get us our luggage, but once I had it, it was a cake walk. My dad met me at the airport and we went straight to IKEA. My mom had given my dad a list and I had somethings I wanted to pick up and we had Swedish Meatballs, because that is what you eat when you are at IKEA (IKEA in HK does not serve food, I was shocked).

The drive was interesting, there was a lot of traffic for large parts of it and for the rest of it we were entertained by no less than 3 idiot drivers. One of them even had the car full of kids. But somehow they can't be behind us until we are one a nice straight bit of road to pass, no preferably we do it in a turn if we can't see if we are meeting a car. Great!

But home is good. Amazing food as always. We had pasta with zogo yesterday. There is so much new stuff here, everything from puppy to new furniture. But the horses are gone. They left on Thursday, since the ladies they are going to had to put one of their horses (they have several) on tuesday. I am not as sad as I thought I would be. But I wish I could ahve gotten to say goodbye. One of the things I need to do is to pack down my saddle and tack and that will be sad. Expect emopost when I do that.

But now I am keeping myself busy with the puppy, which adorable on legs. I will post pictures.

Oh and a little idea for a costume, a rope corset. What do people think?

My grandma gave me money for my birthday, and I expect to get money from my grandfater also. So the plan was to buy shoes for my steampunk costume and these shoes would also double up for the black sorcereress. Here are my two options:

So, high calf or short? The price is about the same.

Yeah, this blog is moving. I have had this account with blogger for three years now, or close to. It has been a surprisingly big part of my life. Very teraputic to write down your thoughts and feelings and angry rants. Same goes for LJ, though I had that for a lot shorter period of time, only one and a half year, but I will be more or less leaving that too. Everything will move to the new wordpress blog, and we are in the moving phase now, but this will take full effect on the last day of classes, as that is the last day when I have the class I originally got the wordpress account for. I will still have my accounts with blogger and LJ, just that my updates will all be on the word press account. I am also starting up the DEE project again their (that might be in full effect before the main blog). IMPORTANT NOTE: Some, possibly a lot, of post will be password protected. I tend to lean towards being as open as possible but sometimes that is not possible. If you want access to the password, email me, comment here or comment on the wordpress account.

Registraion for fall classes went fine. I got into everything I wanted. I am exited about Astro. Been wanting to take that class for a long time. Then there are Assembly and Operating Systems which will both be fun, I hope, if a lot of work. I am also looking forward to taking german again. And I got the section with a teacher that have been recommended to me.

In the rpg world, things are going ok. I am a little bit out of it, because every game I have played this year feels like it have been very political, this might not have been the intention, but that is how it feels. And lately I have been wanting to do more swashbuckling. You know, fights, insults, treasure, fight monsters, so on and so forth. Something that is lighter and more fun and less heavy on the political plot. This I guess is reflected in my last two characters Adrian and Ramon, both essencially swashbucklers, though only Ramon is an actual pirate. So I am looking into how I can do that. There is also two games I want to play, both of which can fit this style. Shadowrun and 7th Sea. 7th Sea is a swashbuckling pirate game already, but I only have the player's guide and don't really feel like dishing out tons of money. Shadowrun has a very dark and gritty overtone, but the underlying consept is very much that of swashbuckling. But it is also futuristic, character gen is confusing and it seems to be hard to recruit players for it and get the ones I have to be enthusiastic about it. Is that my fault? Am I doing something wrong as a GM? Or is it simply that people don't like futuristic games? I don't know.
But I have a few links for people
7th Sea, link to the game, has loads of interesting resources
Victorian Slang Glossary, just exactly what it sounds like

I am impressed. I ordered the fabric tuesday evening and it is here. And I went for the cheapest shipping option. It is gorgeous black indian duponi. It has a lot of character and is sort of matte. Good, that is what I wanted. I can add shinyness with beads. So yeah thaisilks.com is highly recommended for silk. They offer all sorts of silk in all sort of prices. I think the cheapest I have seen is around 5 bucks a yard all the way up to 40-something, but that was for double wave satin.

So, every costume I come up with lately features a corset. Why is this? Is it because I am obsessed with the things? If everything comes together like I want I'll have 6 corsets/bodices by the end of summer.

So I am making a dress built on what I imagined when I read the description of Ylinestra's dress in Stalking Darkness by Lynn Flewelling
"The sorcereress' silk gown glittered with jewled beading and the bodice, fashionable in the extreme, ..."
Originally I imagined something deep bottle green, but it seems impossible to find silk in this color or dye in this color. So I am wondering. I can do black with deep green beads and embroidery (yes we are looking at hand embroidery by yours truly), possibly with a hint of silver. I could probably find a blue, but it does not have the same feel as deep green or black. The ideas I have is here. I have the patteren for the corset now, I just need to buy the other stuffs. What do people think?

Also, I need someone who would be willing to do the painting. The shoot is tomorrow (yes I will be wearing woad for most of the day) here is an idea on designs

Hihi, out side in the snow... gonna be cold, but fun... Anybody free after lunch and feel like painting me blue? I will provide paint and bruses and myself
